Roxbury/Dorchester/Mattapan (RDM) Transit Needs Study

Boston, Massachusetts

 

The Arch Professional Group, Inc. has been hired by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) and the MBTA to study public transportation needs and potential improvements in Roxbury, Dorchester, Mattapan and portions of the South End. The Roxbury / Dorchester / Mattapan (RDM) Transit Needs Study will identify strategies - from improving bus service to building new transit lines - that can guide future investment in the corridor, all with extensive community input.

 

The Study will focus on understanding what today's travel needs are and what types of transit service would help support the study area's future. That effort will involve analyzing MBTA system performance, existing and forecasted population and employment characteristics, and current and projected land use and development. With your active participation the Study will identify and evaluate an array of strategies to improve the quality and overall reliability of the transit system in Roxbury, Dorchester and Mattapan.
